![]() ![]() Room: The room was nice - it was a 2 bedroom unit. If you have gluten issues they have a small area with gluten free foods - waffles were excellent. When we ordered at 7 or after it took 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours to get to the room (which they told us would be the case when we ordered) The large buffet breakfast was good. Room service was actually the best food we had but make sure you order early. The Restaurant by the pool was one of the better places to eat, even had breakfast there. Steak was a poor quality cut for a fillet, very tough. Food: The Italian restaurant was not that good for the price. The cards have to be turned in when you check out or you get charged. ![]() AT the end of the day if you are done at the pool and don't want to carry your towels around you exchange them back for cards. During the day you can also exchange wet towels for dry ones. You take those cards to any towel stand and exchange the cards for towels. You get one card per person at check in for towels. My advice, if shade is important to you get up early and reserve your bed for the next day, every day you plan to spend by the pool. Another day they ran out before getting to me. SO I managed one day to show up about 10:30 and get one that wasn't confirmed. You have to confirm by 11:00 that you will be using the bed that day and if you don't they will open it up to others first come first serve. It is $30 per day but if you eat at the pool restaurant (not bad) they credit that towards the $30.00. You do this at a particular place and can sign up 1 day in advance. One thing to note: It is hard to find shade by the pool and you have 2 options: (1) Get up really early and grap the few chairs that have some shade for the day or (2) Go early and reserve a bed with shade. If you value your time more and don't want a pressured sales pitch just say no after check in when they approach you! The Pool: There are several Pools and together it makes for a really nice experience. ![]() If the discounts are important to you then just know what you are getting into. I met others at the pool who spent 5-6 hours and they had no interest either. We were done in about 3 hours because we made it really clear early on we weren't interested. At that point I told him I just wanted to purchase tickets with the discount and he told me I could do that in the lobby of the hotel! So, I tell you this to let you know - if you agree to this "disclosure" or whatever terminology they use it will be a hard sell for their timeshare. Then I was told if we would go and listen to a 90 minute sales pitch he could get me free tickets. I hadn't bought our cirque du soleil tickets yet so I sat down at that table. Someone else rushed over and took me to what I was told was an area to book tours etc so we could get the discount we were promised. Then she just got up and walked away without even acknowledging me. At this point I was clear, not mean but very clear, we had no intention of doing any timeshare acquisition as I told the person before her. That was just a handful of questions then we were led to yet another person who was very nice in asking how it went and if we were enjoying our vacation before telling me she had one more deal for me that was too good to pass up. After many we are not interested comments, getting very direct at one point, we then had to sit and wait for a "quality control" person to exit interview us. Not true! It very quickly turned into a sales pitch that day after breakfast where the "Manager" came over and tried to explain why selling our current timeshare and buying into theirs was such a great deal. We specifically asked if this would be a sales pitch and were told no, it was an information disclosure on the state of the timeshare market and would only take a few hours including a free breakfast. It was not clear that is who led us to another desk and started talking to us about providing a disclosure report on the timeshare industry in return for some discounts. Timeshare sales pitch: The timeshare people will grab you right as you complete your check-in process at the front desk. Overall we enjoyed our vacation here but will try a different property in this area next time. So if you go with kids who tend to be back and forth to the pools/beach/dining all day it can get to be a lot of walking. Food was average and the resort was very spread out. It is a timeshare so you will get a hard sell to sit through the presentation. Summary: This is a good resort but not great. ![]()
